How to get collections for Office evaluators in Windows
Follow these steps to verify that you have the right to install collections for Office evaluators on your device. If so, select the desired level of evaluation program and install the current build. Find out which programs are included in the Office evaluation program .
Verification of compliance
- Open any Office program, such as Word or Excel, and select Account . If another file is already open, select File > Account .
- Find your license in the Product Information section .
- Determine if you meet the criteria for this offer by comparing your license with the license types below.
Subscriber licenses of the consumer
If you have a subscription to Microsoft 365 Family or Personal Subscription, you can install collections for Office evaluators by following the instructions on this page. In the Product Information section, select Subscription Product , and then select Microsoft 365 .
Prepaid licenses for business and education
If you have an Office subscription associated with a work or study account, the assessment collections will be managed by your Microsoft 365 administrator . The Product Information section may display a subscription to the Microsoft 365 Enterprise Program or may not display any license. Assessment installation and configuration settings for evaluators will not be displayed unless your administrator has enabled this feature.

Permanent licenses
You must use a subscription version of Office to join the evaluation program. If the license name shows “2016” or “2019,” it means that you are using a one-time purchased version of Office (without a subscription) that does not receive regular feature updates. In this case, you will not be able to join the Office Evaluation Program.
Choosing the level of the evaluation program
The Office 36 Windows subscription evaluation program on Microsoft 365 has two levels: Beta and Instant Channel (Preparatory).
Beta channel
The former name is the evaluation program channel (or early access evaluation program). This is the best option for those who want to access the latest builds to identify issues and provide feedback on new features that are still under development, and ignore the minimal risk of using builds that are not yet supported.
Urgent channel (preparatory version)
The former name is the monthly target update channel (or late-access evaluation program). This is the best option for fans or early users who want early access and want to receive fewer updates, but more stable. Fully supported builds are released monthly.
Installing Assemblies for Office Appraisers
- In any Office program in Windows, choose File> Account> Office Evaluation Program> Join Office Evaluation Program .
- In the Join the Office Evaluation Program dialog box , select the “I want early access to new editions of Office” check box.
- Select the desired channel of the evaluation program
- Check the box to agree to the terms and conditions.
- Click OK .
- Depending on your notification settings, you may be prompted to allow this application to make changes to your device. In this case, click Yes

- In the Options dialog box, click the down arrow arrow Update Channel , and then click Instant Channel (Preparatory Version) or Beta Channel .
- Read the license agreement to find out what information is collected while using the programs.
- Click Accept , and then click Check for Updates to download updates for evaluators.
Notes.
- If you have an Office subscription that is associated with a work or study account , access to the assessment collections will be managed by your Microsoft 365 administrator . If update feeds for Assessors are not displayed, it means that your administrator has disabled them.
