{"id":5098,"date":"2024-06-14T19:30:02","date_gmt":"2024-06-15T02:30:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/SUMMALAI.COM\/?p=5098"},"modified":"2024-06-14T19:30:04","modified_gmt":"2024-06-15T02:30:04","slug":"how-to-fix-outlook-you-do-not-have-the-permission-to-send-the-message-on-behalf-of-the-specified-user","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/SUMMALAI.COM\/?p=5098","title":{"rendered":"How to fix Outlook &#8220;You do not have the permission to send the message on behalf of the specified user&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Consider the following scenario:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You have Full Access and Send On Behalf Of permissions to a shared mailbox in an Exchange Server environment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You configure a Microsoft Outlook profile for the shared mailbox and enter your own credentials to access it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You send an email message from this Outlook profile.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>And if you are running Outlook in Online mode, you receive the following error message:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>You do not have the permission to send the message on behalf of the specified users.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/filestore.community.support.microsoft.com\/api\/images\/a373daa5-a3c7-4989-80ca-02e5f600a98b?upload=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/filestore.community.support.microsoft.com\/api\/images\/a373daa5-a3c7-4989-80ca-02e5f600a98b?upload=true\" alt=\"Image\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In this configuration, Exchange Server requires Send As permissions to send the email message. If you don&#8217;t have Send As permissions for the shared mailbox, Outlook can&#8217;t send the message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If\u00a0user was typing in the &#8220;From&#8221; box, in that case always got an error. please select from the GAB.<br> \u00a0<br>Delete all email addresses from the \u201cFrom:\u201d box (which is seen when you send an email). The use the \u201cdisplay name\u201d from the shared box in that field to re-add it.
