{"id":5064,"date":"2024-03-22T13:04:13","date_gmt":"2024-03-22T20:04:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/SUMMALAI.COM\/?p=5064"},"modified":"2024-03-22T13:04:15","modified_gmt":"2024-03-22T20:04:15","slug":"how-to-fix-teams-meeting-add-in-is-missing-in-outlook-desktop-after-updating-to-new-teams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/SUMMALAI.COM\/?p=5064","title":{"rendered":"How to Fix Teams Meeting add-in is Missing in Outlook Desktop after Updating to New Teams"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>ISSUE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After updating to New Teams, you notice the following issues:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>When you go to the Outlook Desktop calendar to create a meeting, the Teams Meeting button is missing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When you check Outlook Desktop for the Teams Meeting Add-in by going to&nbsp;<strong>File<\/strong>&nbsp;&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Options&nbsp;<\/strong>&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Add-ins<\/strong>, then select&nbsp;<strong>Go&nbsp;<\/strong>next to&nbsp;<strong>COM Add-ins<\/strong>, the Teams Meeting Add-in is missing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This issue happens if the update to New Teams did not properly install the Teams Meeting Add-in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>STATUS: RESOLUTION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The steps below will result in New Teams installing the Teams Meeting Add-in. If you have both Teams Classic and New Teams installed, use&nbsp;<strong>Option 1<\/strong>.&nbsp;If you have only New Teams installed, use&nbsp;<strong>Option 2<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Option 1<\/strong>: Use this option if you have both Teams Classic and New Teams installed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Switch the Toggle back to&nbsp;<strong>Teams Classic<\/strong>.<br><br><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.content.office.net\/en-us\/media\/400c3a92-f6c9-4d49-a76f-e5e817b4bbd6.png\" alt=\"New Teams toggle\"><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then switch the Toggle back to&nbsp;<strong>New Teams<\/strong>.<br><br><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.content.office.net\/en-us\/media\/cc98c430-1734-463f-9b54-ee8f5d5a3ba9.png\" alt=\"New Teams switch now\"><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Option 2<\/strong>:&nbsp;Use this option if you only have New Teams installed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Uninstall the Teams Meeting Add-in by right clicking the&nbsp;<strong>Windows Start<\/strong>&nbsp;button and select&nbsp;<strong>Settings&nbsp;<\/strong>&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Apps&nbsp;<\/strong>&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Installed Apps<\/strong>, then search for the Teams Meeting Add-in.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the three dots and select&nbsp;<strong>Uninstall<\/strong>.<br><br><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.content.office.net\/en-us\/media\/baaf9f1f-1952-4395-b266-c9aa983805cd.png\" alt=\"Uninstall Teams add-in\"><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Close&nbsp;<strong>Outlook<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Close Teams from the System Tray by right clicking on the&nbsp;<strong>Teams&nbsp;<\/strong>icon in the System Tray and select&nbsp;<strong>Quit<\/strong>.<br><br><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.content.office.net\/en-us\/media\/c8dbdc26-ccb2-43de-90dd-32256f25c0fe.png\" alt=\"Quit Teams from taskbar\"><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Restart New Teams.&nbsp;This will force New Teams&nbsp;to reinstall the Teams Meeting Add-in which should fix the issue.
