{"id":4862,"date":"2023-08-17T14:10:15","date_gmt":"2023-08-17T21:10:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/SUMMALAI.COM\/?p=4862"},"modified":"2023-08-17T14:10:16","modified_gmt":"2023-08-17T21:10:16","slug":"how-to-use-a-digital-signature-on-outlook","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/SUMMALAI.COM\/?p=4862","title":{"rendered":"How to Use a Digital Signature on Outlook"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"ID0EDH\">Digitally sign a single message<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li>In the message, on the&nbsp;<strong>Options<\/strong>&nbsp;tab, in the&nbsp;<strong>Permission<\/strong>&nbsp;group, click&nbsp;<strong>Sign Message<\/strong>.<ul><li>If you don&#8217;t see the&nbsp;<strong>Sign Message<\/strong>&nbsp;button, do the following:<ul><li>In the message, click&nbsp;<strong>Options<\/strong>.<\/li><li>In the&nbsp;<strong>More Options<\/strong>&nbsp;group, click the dialog box launcher&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.content.office.net\/en-us\/media\/bbc84d30-bbee-4302-a260-4b18c5b65c8c.jpg\" alt=\"Dialog Box Launcher button on the ribbon\">&nbsp;in the lower-right corner.<\/li><li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Security Settings<\/strong>, and then select the&nbsp;<strong>Add digital signature to this message<\/strong>&nbsp;check box.<\/li><li>Click&nbsp;<strong>OK<\/strong>, and then click&nbsp;<strong>Close<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>If you don&#8217;t see the&nbsp;<strong>Sign Message<\/strong>&nbsp;button, you might not have a digital ID configured to digitally sign messages, and you need to do the following to install a digital signature.<ul><li>On the&nbsp;<strong>File<\/strong>&nbsp;menu, click&nbsp;<strong>Options<\/strong>&nbsp;&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Trust Center<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Under&nbsp;<strong>Microsoft Outlook Trust Center<\/strong>, click&nbsp;<strong>Trust Center Settings<\/strong>&nbsp;&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Email Security<\/strong><\/li><li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Import\/Export<\/strong>&nbsp;to import a digital ID from a file on your computer, or click&nbsp;<strong>Get digital IDs<\/strong>&nbsp;to find a list of services that issue digital IDs for your use.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Compose your message, and then send it.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"ID0EDF\">Digitally sign all messages<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li>On the\u00a0<strong>File<\/strong>\u00a0tab, click\u00a0<strong>Options<\/strong>\u00a0><strong>Trust Center<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Under\u00a0<strong>Microsoft Outlook Trust Center<\/strong>, click\u00a0<strong>Trust Center Settings<\/strong>.<\/li><li>On the\u00a0<strong>Email Security<\/strong>\u00a0tab, under\u00a0<strong>Encrypted Mail<\/strong>, select the\u00a0<strong>Add digital signature to outgoing messages<\/strong>\u00a0check box.<\/li><li>If available, you can select one of the following options:<ul><li>If you want recipients who don&#8217;t have S\/MIME security to be able to read the message, select the\u00a0<strong>Send clear text signed message when sending signed messages<\/strong>\u00a0check box. By default, this check box is selected.<\/li><li>To verify that your digitally signed message was received unaltered by the intended recipients, select the\u00a0<strong>Request S\/MIME receipt for all S\/MIME signed messages<\/strong>\u00a0check box.
