Screen time limits in Microsoft Family Safety<\/a> are a great way to balance online habits within your family group<\/a>. Decide when and for how long family members can use their connected Windows, Xbox and mobile devices<\/a>. Limits can be as specific as you need them to be – use a different schedule daily or the same one all week. Adjust as you go by allowing more time or deciding when time\u2019s up. You can even set limits on specific devices!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note: <\/strong>Remind family members to sign out if they are not actively using their Xbox console \u2013 screen time counts as long as they are signed in. Screen time limits can only be set on devices connected to your family group.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Visit family.microsoft.com<\/a>. Sign into your Family Safety account.<\/li>
  2. Find your family member, select them, and then select Screen time<\/strong>.<\/li>
  3. To set one schedule across all devices, turn on Use one schedule on all devices<\/strong>.<\/li>
  4. To set schedule or limits for individual devices,
    1. Scroll down to Xbox consoles <\/strong>and Windows 10 devices<\/strong>. Select Turn limits on<\/strong> under each respective category as desired.<\/li>
    2. Select a day to set time ranges and total hours permitted for device use.<\/li>
    3. To turn limits back off, select More, then select Turn limits off<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Family Safety app<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
      1. Open the\u00a0Microsoft\u00a0Family Safety app.<\/li>
      2. Tap the family member you\u00a0are\u00a0setting\u00a0screen time limits for.<\/li>
      3. Tap the\u00a0Screen\u00a0time<\/strong>\u00a0card\u00a0or\u00a0Manage<\/strong>.<\/li>
      4. To set\u00a0limits\u00a0across all\u00a0devices, turn on\u00a0Use one schedule for all devices<\/strong>.\u00a0This allows your\u00a0family member to set an amount of time to\u00a0use freely between devices.<\/li>
      5. To set a\u00a0schedule or limits for individual devices:
        1. Tap the device you are setting limits for.<\/li>
        2. Turn\u00a0on the\u00a0Time Limits<\/strong>\u00a0toggle.<\/li>
        3. Tap the day you would like to set a screen time schedule for.<\/li>
        4. Set the total amount of time\u00a0your family member\u00a0can\u00a0spend on\u00a0their device\u00a0anytime during\u00a0the\u00a0day\u00a0or set one or more time periods under\u00a0Set\u00a0a schedule of available times<\/strong>\u00a0to establish when they can use\u00a0it.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
