1: Windows Security Settings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Click on Windows Security in the system tray found in the lower-right corner of your screen. Click on Virus & threat protection<\/em> and on the next screen, click on Manage settings<\/em> under Virus & threat protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Toggle On or Off under Real-time protection. Click<\/p>\n\n\n\n Turning real-time protection back on is as easy as clicking on the Windows Security tray icon again and click Turn on<\/em>. You can also click on the notification that popped up to quickly enable real-time protection again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 2: Registry Files<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n You can edit the registry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Open the Registry Editor and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Policies\\Microsoft\\Windows Defender<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Right-click on the right window and select New > DWORD > 32-bit Value<\/em>. Name the new DWORD DisableRealtimeMonitoring<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Set the Value data to 1<\/em> to disable and delete the DWORD you created to enable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 3: Group Policy Editor<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Open Group Policy Editor<\/strong>. Windows 10 Home users can\u00a0enable Group Policy Editor<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Expand Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Defender Antivirus > Real-time Protection<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Double-click Turn off real-time protection<\/em>. Click Enable<\/em> to turn real-time protection off and Not configured<\/em> to turn real-time protection on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 4: PowerShell or Command Prompt<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n There are two commands each to turn real-time protection on or off.
