Guest users can create and delete buckets and tasks, edit task fields, and edit the plan name. If you grant the guest user additional&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/guest-access-in-microsoft-planner-cc5d7f96-dced-4da4-ab62-08c72d9759c6#bkmk_permissions\">permissions<\/a>, they can also attach a file or link to a task.&nbsp;Guest users will also receive some of the notifications associated with your plan.<br>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:&nbsp;<\/strong>Planner email notifications for task assignments are not supported for guest users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How it works<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Planner builds on the Microsoft 365 groups guest access feature. If Microsoft 365 Groups guest access is turned off, you won&#8217;t be able to add guest users to plans. For more information, see&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/adding-guests-to-microsoft-365-groups-bfc7a840-868f-4fd6-a390-f347bf51aff6\">Guest access in Microsoft&nbsp;365 groups<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Step 1<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; A group owner&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/add-and-remove-group-members-in-outlook-3b650f4a-5c9b-4f94-a1bb-0cca4b1091de#BKMK_Guests\">adds a guest to the group<\/a>.<strong>Note:&nbsp;<\/strong>To find the group associated with a plan, go to outlook.com, and in the&nbsp;<strong>Folders<\/strong>&nbsp;pane scroll down to the&nbsp;<strong>Groups<\/strong>&nbsp;folder and find your plan name.<\/li><li><strong>Step 2<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The invited guest gets a welcome email from the group. If they do not already have a guest account with the organization, they need to accept this invitation to create one. In the welcome email, under&nbsp;<strong>Read group files<\/strong>, select the&nbsp;<strong>Access files<\/strong>&nbsp;link and following the instructions to create a guest account.<\/li><li><strong>Step 3<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; To access a plan, guests either need to use a specific plan URL or go to https:\/\/tasks.office.com\/[organizationdomainname]. You can find the organization&#8217;s domain name in any non-guest user&#8217;s email address; for example: nonguestuser@organizationdomainname.com. The general Planner URL, https:\/\/tasks.office.com\/, takes non-guest Microsoft 365 users to Planner, but won&#8217;t know from the guest user name which organization they want to sign in to.<\/li><li><strong>Step 4<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The guest can leave the plan at any time using a link at the bottom of each email and calendar invitations.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Permissions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The following table summarizes what group owners, plan members, and guests can and can&#8217;t do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><thead><tr><th>Task<\/th><th>Non-guest owners and members<\/th><th>Guest user members<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>Create tasks and buckets<\/td><td>Yes<\/td><td>Yes<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Edit task fields<\/td><td>Yes<\/td><td>Yes<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Attach a file or link to tasks<\/td><td>Yes<\/td><td>Yes.
