One of our most popular UserVoice<\/a><\/strong> requests was to create and manage third-party applications in Intune a<\/a>utomatically<\/a><\/strong>. The ability to automate the creation of Win32 applications has been on our radar since releasing our application management<\/a><\/strong> feature for Configuration Manager (SCCM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We understand your time is valuable. Manually packaging<\/strong> third-party products such as Oracle Java, Google Chrome, Adobe Reader, etc. can be cumbersome<\/strong> and time-consuming<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How Automatic Creation of Applications in Intune Works<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We make use of our Publisher tool<\/a><\/strong> for automating the creation of applications in Microsoft Intune. The process is very similar to how our Publisher can make creating third-party applications<\/a><\/strong> within Microsoft SCCM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1:<\/strong> Enable the products<\/a><\/strong> you would like to create Intune applications for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2:<\/strong> Configure any custom installation options<\/a><\/strong>. These options will allow you to auto-create assignments<\/strong>, delete shortcuts<\/strong>, disable self-updates<\/strong>, and much more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 3:<\/strong> Configure how often you want to sync<\/strong> new third-party applications and how to update the existing applications<\/a><\/strong> in Microsoft Intune.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 4:<\/strong> Review<\/strong>, assign,<\/strong> or monitor<\/strong> the Win32 applications<\/strong> that are automatically created and maintained by Patch My PC. All applications created by our service will have icons<\/strong>, descriptions<\/strong>, categories<\/strong> giving end users a great experience<\/strong><\/a> in company portal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 5:<\/strong> Configure how you want your Intune applications to be updated<\/a><\/strong> when a newer version is available. By default, our service will automatically assign the latest version<\/strong> and remove assignments<\/strong> from the previous version. This setting allows you always to deploy the latest versions of applications using the company portal<\/a> <\/strong>application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
