{"id":4183,"date":"2022-06-13T09:58:17","date_gmt":"2022-06-13T16:58:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/SUMMALAI.COM\/?p=4183"},"modified":"2022-06-13T09:58:20","modified_gmt":"2022-06-13T16:58:20","slug":"how-to-change-your-default-mic-speaker-or-camera-in-microsoft-teams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/SUMMALAI.COM\/?p=4183","title":{"rendered":"How to Change\u00a0Your\u00a0Default\u00a0mic, speaker, or camera in Microsoft Teams"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"page-header\">Manage your call settings in Teams<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Microsoft Teams<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To change your settings,&nbsp;select&nbsp;<strong>Settings and more&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.content.office.net\/en-us\/media\/c895c3f1-9e3a-451d-9f7c-4be804303b3a.png\" alt=\"Select to see more options\">&nbsp;&nbsp;next to your profile picture at the top of Teams and then choose&nbsp;<strong>Settings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a few different places with call settings:&nbsp;<strong>General<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Devices<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>Calls<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:&nbsp;<\/strong>If you don&#8217;t see&nbsp;<strong>Calls<\/strong>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.content.office.net\/en-us\/media\/3dbb6287-162c-414a-8502-5a55b70be3b6.png\" alt=\"Calls button\">&nbsp;on the left side of Teams, talk to your IT admin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Add and remove delegates<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To manage who can make and receive calls on your behalf, select&nbsp;<strong>Settings and more&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.content.office.net\/en-us\/media\/c895c3f1-9e3a-451d-9f7c-4be804303b3a.png\" alt=\"Select to see more options\">&nbsp;&nbsp;next to your profile picture at the top of Teams and then choose&nbsp;<strong>Settings&nbsp;<\/strong>&gt;&nbsp;<strong>General<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Find the&nbsp;<strong>Delegation&nbsp;<\/strong>section and choose&nbsp;<strong>Manage delegates<\/strong>. There you can see who you&#8217;re a delegate for, and add and remove your own delegates.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you add someone as a delegate, you&#8217;ll see some permissions settings. If you want, you can enable your delegates to make and receive calls on your behalf, as well as let them change your call and delegate settings.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Learn more about delegates&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/share-a-phone-line-with-a-delegate-16307929-a51f-43fc-8323-3b1bf115e5a8\">here<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Change your default mic, speaker, or camera<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To select the mic, speaker, and camera you want Teams to use for calls and meetings,&nbsp;select&nbsp;<strong>Settings and more&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.content.office.net\/en-us\/media\/c895c3f1-9e3a-451d-9f7c-4be804303b3a.png\" alt=\"Select to see more options\">&nbsp;&nbsp;next to your profile picture at the top of Teams and then choose&nbsp;<strong>Settings&nbsp;<\/strong>&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Devices<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under&nbsp;<strong>Audio devices<\/strong>, pick the speaker and mic you want Teams to use by default.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under&nbsp;<strong>Camera<\/strong>, select the camera you want Teams to use, and see a preview of that camera&#8217;s video.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have multiple certified devices connected to your computer, you can set one as your&nbsp;<strong>secondary ringer<\/strong>, which means it&#8217;ll ring when a call comes in. Answer incoming calls on any device\u2014not just the ones that ring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Make a test call<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To make a test call, select&nbsp;<strong>Settings and more&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.content.office.net\/en-us\/media\/c895c3f1-9e3a-451d-9f7c-4be804303b3a.png\" alt=\"Select to see more options\">&nbsp;&nbsp;next to your profile picture at the top of Teams and then choose&nbsp;<strong>Settings&nbsp;<\/strong>&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Devices<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Choose&nbsp;<strong>Make a test call<\/strong>&nbsp;under&nbsp;<strong>Audio devices<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a test call, you&#8217;ll see how your mic, speaker, and camera are working. Follow the instructions from Test Call Bot and record a short message. The message will play back for you. After that, you&#8217;ll get a summary of the test call, and you can go to your device settings to make changes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Notes:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The test call feature is only available in English for now. Additional languages are coming soon.<\/li><li>We&#8217;ll delete your test recording immediately after the call. It won&#8217;t be retained or used by Microsoft.<\/li><li>The test call feature is&nbsp;currently only available in Teams desktop app for Windows and Mac.<\/li><li>This feature is unavailable for Government High Cloud&nbsp;and&nbsp;Department of Defense&nbsp;tenants using the Teams desktop app for Windows and Mac.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Set your call answering rules<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To set your call answering rules, select&nbsp;<strong>Settings and more&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.content.office.net\/en-us\/media\/c895c3f1-9e3a-451d-9f7c-4be804303b3a.png\" alt=\"Select to see more options\">&nbsp;&nbsp;next to your profile picture at the top of Teams and then choose&nbsp;<strong>Settings&nbsp;<\/strong>&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Calls<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Choose how you want Teams to handle your incoming calls in the section for&nbsp;<strong>Call answering rules<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Select&nbsp;<strong>Forward my calls<\/strong>&nbsp;if that&#8217;s what you want to do. If you want simultaneous ring, click&nbsp;<strong>Calls ring me<\/strong>&nbsp;and select others under<strong>&nbsp;Also ring<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Choose what to do with calls that go unanswered under&nbsp;<strong>If unanswered<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adjust your voicemail settings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To change your voicemail settings, select&nbsp;<strong>Settings and more&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.content.office.net\/en-us\/media\/c895c3f1-9e3a-451d-9f7c-4be804303b3a.png\" alt=\"Select to see more options\">&nbsp;&nbsp;next to your profile picture at the top of Teams and then choose&nbsp;<strong>Settings&nbsp;<\/strong>&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Calls<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the&nbsp;<strong>Voicemail&nbsp;<\/strong>section, click&nbsp;<strong>Configure voicemail<\/strong>. That&#8217;s where you&#8217;ll find all your voicemail settings.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Voicemail greeting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To record a new voicemail greeting, select&nbsp;<strong>Record a greeting<\/strong>&nbsp;and follow the instructions to record your message.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Call answer rules<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To change how calls are handled once they reach your voicemail, go to&nbsp;<strong>Call answer rules<\/strong>. By default, Teams will play your voicemail greeting and allow the caller to record a message. You have some other options, though:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Let the caller record a message.<\/li><li>Let the caller record a message or be transferred to someone else.<\/li><li>End the call without playing your greeting.<\/li><li>Play your greeting and end the call.<\/li><li>Transfer the call to someone else.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you choose an option that includes transferring the call, set the name or number where you want your calls to go under&nbsp;<strong>Where should they be transferred?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Default greeting language<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Change your default greeting language by selecting the language you want under Greeting language.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Text-to-speech voicemail greeting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To use a text-to-speech voicemail greeting, type one in&nbsp;<strong>Your custom greeting<\/strong>&nbsp;under&nbsp;<strong>Text-to-speech customized greeting<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:&nbsp;<\/strong>If you&#8217;ve recorded a greeting, it&#8217;ll override the text-to-speech option.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Out of office voicemail greeting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Type your out of office greeting in&nbsp;<strong>Your custom out of office greeting<\/strong>&nbsp;under&nbsp;<strong>Text-to-speech customized greeting<\/strong>, then choose when you&#8217;d like it to play under&nbsp;<strong>Out of office greeting<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Choose ringtones<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To set your preferred ringtones, select&nbsp;<strong>Settings and more&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.content.office.net\/en-us\/media\/c895c3f1-9e3a-451d-9f7c-4be804303b3a.png\" alt=\"Select to see more options\">&nbsp;&nbsp;next to your profile picture at the top of Teams and then choose&nbsp;<strong>Settings&nbsp;<\/strong>&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Calls<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There, under&nbsp;<strong>Ringtones<\/strong>, you can choose separate ringtones for your normal calls, forwarded calls, and delegated calls so you&#8217;re able to tell them apart.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Turn on Text Telephone (TTY)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Select&nbsp;<strong>Settings and more&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.content.office.net\/en-us\/media\/c895c3f1-9e3a-451d-9f7c-4be804303b3a.png\" alt=\"Select to see more options\">&nbsp;&nbsp;next to your profile picture at the top of Teams and then choose&nbsp;<strong>Settings&nbsp;<\/strong>&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Calls<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the&nbsp;<strong>Accessibility&nbsp;<\/strong>section, click&nbsp;<strong>Turn on TTY mode<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Manage blocked numbers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To view and manage the numbers you&#8217;ve blocked, select&nbsp;<strong>Settings and more&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.content.office.net\/en-us\/media\/c895c3f1-9e3a-451d-9f7c-4be804303b3a.png\" alt=\"Select to see more options\">&nbsp;&nbsp;next to your profile picture at the top of Teams and then choose&nbsp;<strong>Settings&nbsp;<\/strong>&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Privacy<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Select&nbsp;<strong>Edit blocked contacts&nbsp;<\/strong>under&nbsp;<strong>Blocked contacts&nbsp;<\/strong>to see any numbers you&#8217;ve blocked and remove them from the list.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To block anonymous calls, select&nbsp;<strong>Block calls with no caller ID<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Manage call queue notifications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re a call queue agent, you can turn notifications off or on for each of your queues.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Go to\u00a0<strong>Settings\u00a0<\/strong>>\u00a0<strong>Calls<\/strong>, and scroll down to\u00a0<strong>Call queues<\/strong>\u00a0to see a list of your queues.
