{"id":3643,"date":"2021-10-05T23:07:19","date_gmt":"2021-10-06T06:07:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/SUMMALAI.COM\/?p=3643"},"modified":"2021-10-05T23:07:21","modified_gmt":"2021-10-06T06:07:21","slug":"how-to-configure-the-pax-d210-payment-terminal-device","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/SUMMALAI.COM\/?p=3643","title":{"rendered":"How to Configure the PAX D210 Payment Terminal Device"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The PAX D210 device has&nbsp;the ability to read EMV chip cards, NFC, magnetic strips, and it has a keypad for keyed entry.&nbsp;It is both&nbsp;EMV and P2PE enabled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The PAX D210 device&nbsp;<strong>must have a 2.4 GHz wireless connection to the internet<\/strong>, and&nbsp;your point of sale terminal must be able to connect to it over your local network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is highly recommended that the computer be&nbsp;<strong>connected with an ethernet cable to your network<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1) Prepare your computer to communicate with the terminal<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you will be able to&nbsp;communicate securely with your PAX payment device, you must install the device security certificate on each computer\/tablet\/phone where you will be processing payments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Installing the&nbsp;security certificate is a quick process that should only take a minute or so to perform, depending on your operating system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2) Set the Date and Time on your PAX D210<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Press the menu button (the button under the&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/repairq.zendesk.com\/hc\/article_attachments\/360020170134\/Screen_Shot_2018-12-17_at_12.54.40_PM.png\" alt=\"Screen_Shot_2018-12-17_at_12.54.40_PM.png\" width=\"59\" height=\"29\">&nbsp;symbol.) The PAX screen will ask for a password. The default password is the current date in this format: MM\/DD\/YYYY. Depending on the time of day and your time zone, the &#8220;current date&#8221; of the device may either be the previous or next day, so try those if the current date does not work.<\/li><li>Arrow down to System Settings.<\/li><li>Select Date\/Time Setup.<\/li><li>The DTS settings will be visible. If any information is incorrect, begin typing in the numbers for the date, and it will go into edit mode.<\/li><li>Fill out the correct information, and press the Enter key to go to the next field.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Enter Time (HH:MM:SS)&nbsp;<em><strong>using military time<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;and press the Enter key to save.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3) Set up Wi-Fi Connection<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Press the Menu button, enter the device password, and press the Enter key.<\/li><li>Arrow down to Communication (3) and enter the password again.<\/li><li>Arrow down to WiFi Parameters (3) and the device will search for available networks. Use the arrow button to list more networks if yours is unavailable.<\/li><li>Select your network from the list. Use the&nbsp;arrow to search more pages of available networks.<\/li><li>Enter the password for your connection. For alphanumeric passwords, press the corresponding number key and then press \u201cALPHA\u201d to cycle between letters, numbers and case.<\/li><li>Press \u201cENTER\u201d to save password. Use \u201cCANCEL\u201d button to return to the idle screen and test connection.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4) Change the LAN type on the device to &#8220;DHCP&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When your device is shipped, it comes pre-loaded with the &#8220;Static IP&#8221; LAN type, and a default IP of 000.000.000.000. This needs to be changed to &#8220;DHCP,&#8221; so your router can assign an IP to the device. Follow the instructions in this article to change it from &#8220;Static IP&#8221; to &#8220;DHCP.&#8221; Be sure to have the PAX connected to your WiFi connection and power cycle your device after making this change for it to take effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5) Register&nbsp;your PAX Payment Terminal Device in&nbsp;RepairQ<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For step by step instructions on how to register&nbsp;your PAX Payment Terminal Device in RepairQ,&nbsp;click on an article&nbsp;below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Register Bluefin PAX Payment Terminal Device<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>6) OPTIONAL: Change the LAN type on the device BACK to &#8220;Static IP&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Depending on your local network, you may need to set your PAX device to use either Static LAN Mode or DHCP LAN mode. We&nbsp;<strong>strongly recommend you use Static IP mode<\/strong>&nbsp;on your PAX device to prevent the&nbsp;IP address from changing unexpectedly and interrupting&nbsp;your payment processing. Some ISPs take 15 minutes or longer before the issue resolves itself.&nbsp;To resolve this issue, try&nbsp;using Google&#8217;s DNS servers: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Default settings for the Bluefin PAX S300\/D210:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The default password for your PAX device is the current date, unless you decide to change it. It will be in this format MM\/DD\/YYYY.&nbsp;<strong>We&nbsp;strongly recommend you set your own password on each device.<\/strong><\/li><li>Depending on the version of the software application installed on your device, the Menu button may&nbsp;be disabled. This is because the PAX S300 is built to be a customer-facing device with limited accessibility.
