First thing first, you may need to add the telnet feature if you have not installed it previously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Go to “Turn windows features on or off”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Check the little box before “Telnet Client” and then click “OK”. Wait for the installation to finish, your computer will be ready.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

telnet to the IP of Jetdirect from CMD. if you have reset the device, the default IP should be 192.0.0.192. see here for how to reset an HP Jetdirect<\/a> if need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use the below commands to set ip\/mask\/gw, for example, I am going to set below IP to the Jetdirect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ip: 10.88.88.18
subnet-mask: 255.255.255.0
default-gw: 10.88.88.1<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The telnet won’t give any feedback other than a “>”. so you may need to use “\/” to check current settings. If everything looks good, the last thing would be “quit” to save-and-exit. or you need to do the above 3 commands again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
